Event Locations

Buttercup Valley Nature Preserve
East end of Stanford Drive in Northside. Turn right (east) off Hamilton about one mile north of Knowltons Corner.

LaBoiteaux Woods
South end of Lanius Lane in College Hill. Turn right (east) off Hamilton Avenue onto Hillcrest Road and right from Hillcrest onto Lanius.

Parkers Woods
Haight and Bruce Avenues. Turn right (east) onto Bruce from Hamilton Avenue about one half mile north of Knowltons Corner.

Badgley Run Park
The southern entrance to Badgley Run is on Washburn Street just west of its intersection with Kirby Road.

Wednesday, March 19, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Annual Meeting
Dr. Steve Matter, of the University of Cincinnati, will present a program entitled “Habitat Fragmentation: Here, There and Everywhere” and discuss the resultant loss of diversity of life in our natural areas. The meeting will take place at LaBoiteaux Woods Nature Center.

Saturday, April 5, 9:00 a.m. – Noon - Buttercup Valley Honeysuckle Removal
Help remove this invasive plant from Buttercup Valley Nature Preserve. Pizza will be provided for all volunteers at noon.

Saturday, April 19, 9:00 a.m. – Noon - Parkers Woods Honeysuckle Removal
Help remove this invasive shrub from Parkers Woods. Meet at the preserve entrance at Haight and Bruce Avenues. Pizza will be provided for all volunteers at noon.

Friday, May 2, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. - Evening Walk in Buttercup Valley Preserve
Optional dinner at a Northside establishment.

Saturday, May 3, 9:00 a.m. – Noon - Buttercup Valley Garlic Mustard Removal
Help remove this invasive plant from Buttercup Valley Nature Preserve. Meet at the preserve entrance at the east end of Stanford Drive. Pizza will be provided for all volunteers at noon.

Saturday, May 17, 9:00 a.m. – Noon - Buttercup Valley Garlic Mustard Removal
Help remove this invasive plant from Buttercup Valley Nature Preserve. Pizza will be provided for all volunteers at noon.

Sunday, June 8, Noon – 3:00 p.m. - Northside Greenspace Picnic
Join Northside Greenspace members and friends for a potluck picnic at Keystone Flora Nursery, LLC. Bring a dish to share and take a tour of this emerging native plant nursery. From Winton Road turn east onto Kings Run Drive (traffic light there), north onto Winton Ridge Lane, left onto Wooden Shoe Hollow, and follow the signs to 5081Wooden Shoe Hollow. Carpooling is recommended. Call 921-2250 for more information.

Friday, July 4 - Northside Fourth of July Parade
Join the Northside Greenspace contingent in Northside's largest annual public celebration. Meeting time and place to be announced.

Meet at the Washburn Street entrance.

Sunday January 25, 2009, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. - Winter Woodland Walk
This walk will be as leisurely as the weather will permit, with brief stops to note whatever aspect of nature strikes the fancy of the participants. Meet at the entrance to Parkers Woods at Haight and Bruce Avenues.
